What are the Stafort Highland Games
The Highland games originally hail from the Highlands of Scotland where the clans used to battle each other. Dressed in the traditional kilt you will compete in the different categories of our Highland Games and you will discover your inner "Braveheart"!
Highland Games Categories (Team/Individual)
* Shot ( T+I)
Shot putting where the shot is thrown from the neck.
* Quoiting ( T+I)
A game of skill wherein the contestants throw a horseshoe towards a pole.
* Caber tossing (T+I)
The best known category of the Highland Games wherein a tree trunk is tossed.
* Caber Wave(T)
All contestants slaloming with a 5 meter pole.
* Tug o' war (T)
* Roll the barrel(T)
* Clan shooting (T+I)
Bow shooting competition
* (Team) Timberwalk(T+I)
Carrying a (heavy) weight a course is completed (individually or per team).
* Clapper Hanging ( T+I )
Hanging from a steel clapper for as long as possible.
* Weight for height(T+I)
A weight is thrown over a number of heights. If the height is not met one may not advance.
* Caber Sawing (T+I )
Tree trunk sawing
